‘Dreaming Lhasa’, a Tibetan-language feature film from the documentarians Ritu Sarin and Tenzing Sonam, is about a filmmaker named Karma documenting the plight of Tibetans who fled persecution by the Chinese and settled in Dharamsala, the Dalai Lama’s exile headquarters in northern India.
The film explores the state of exile and the issues of identity, culture and politics affecting the Tibetan refugee community in India.
